Soak the bread in milk for 5 minutes, then squeeze out excess liquid and crumble into the minced beef. Add the finely chopped onion, egg, mustard, salt, pepper and nutmeg, mixing gently with your hands until just combined. Shape the mixture into 8 oval patties, approximately 2cm thick. Lightly dust each patty with flour on both sides. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat and fry the fricadelles for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Serve hot with mustard, chips and a simple salad or pickled vegetables.
