Method

Mix flour, sugar, yeast, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Add oil and warm water, stirring until a dough forms, then knead for 8 minutes until smooth. Cover and leave to rise for 1 hour until doubled in size. Meanwhile, combine minced pork with spring onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, sugar, pepper and cornflour. Divide dough into 12 pieces, roll each into a disc, fill with a spoonful of filling, then fold and seal to form a bun. Place buns on squares of greaseproof paper and steam in a bamboo steamer or metal steamer basket over boiling water for 12-15 minutes until cooked through.
