Method

Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, turmeric and cumin seeds in a large bowl. Add the mashed chickpeas, fresh coriander, green chillies and onion, stirring well to combine. Make a well in the centre and gradually add the oil and water, mixing until you have a thick, sticky batter similar to cake mixture. Pour the batter into a greased loaf tin and bake at 190°C for 35-40 minutes until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. Allow to cool slightly before turning out onto a wire rack.
