Method

Mix the flour and salt together in a large bowl. Make a well in the centre and gradually add the water, mixing with your fingers until a soft dough forms. Knead gently on a floured surface for 2-3 minutes until just combined. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place on a baking tray. Score a cross on the top with a sharp knife, cutting about 1 cm deep. Bake in a preheated 200°C oven for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped. Brush with melted butter whilst still warm.
