Heat the ghee in a large, heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat and gradually add the flour, stirring constantly for 15-20 minutes until the mixture turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma. In a separate pan, warm the water and dissolve the saffron strands in it, then stir in the honey and cardamom. Slowly pour the honey mixture into the browned flour whilst stirring vigorously to avoid lumps, continuing to stir until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy. Keep stirring for a further 5 minutes until the asida thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan. Transfer to a serving dish and shape into a mound or dome using the back of a spoon. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and serve warm, traditionally accompanied by ghee drizzled over the top.
