Preheat the oven to 200°C and lightly grease a 900g loaf tin. In a large bowl, combine the wholemeal flour, white flour, oats, salt and bicarbonate of soda. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Make a well in the centre and pour in the buttermilk and honey, then gently mix together with a wooden spoon until you have a soft, slightly sticky dough. Transfer the dough to the prepared tin and smooth the top level. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the loaf sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom. Turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
