Method

Rinse the dried dulse seaweed thoroughly under cold running water to remove any sand or grit, then soak in the water for 20-30 minutes until it becomes soft and pliable. Drain the dulse and add it to a saucepan of fresh boiling salted water, simmering gently for 20-25 minutes until tender. Drain thoroughly in a colander, pressing gently to remove excess moisture. Transfer to a serving dish, dot with butter, season with salt and black pepper, and serve warm as a traditional Manx side dish.
