Let sit for 15 minutes, then bake for 50-60 minutes until set but still slightly moist, with a golden top. For the sauce, melt butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, add sugar and stir until dissolved, then carefully remove from heat and add bourbon, stirring well. Return to low heat briefly, then add cream and stir until smooth. Pour warm sauce over pudding and serve immediately.
